The hate she got seemed more from the the fact she namedropped these pop stars that have obsessive stans who worship them. Majority of those entertainers were POC because the most popular genres as of now are hip-hop and alternative R&B. But I think she should not have gotten all that flack either. R15 I understood the point she made with that IG post though I didn't necessarily agree with it 100%.

Add in the fact that she was dating that reality TV cop at the time, and you had the perfect rationale for the internet mob to pull out their pitchforks.

I think this was merely incidental and completely divorced from the point she was making, but it became the sole focus because of how it was interpreted. She was ultimately accused of being racist because the women she was citing as counterpoints to herself happened to be mostly black or POC.

The post she made on her social media a year or so ago where she was having a pity party about not being able to "express her soft femininity" or whatever was what started the shitstorm I think. She is a reactionary type who seems to be unable to resist the urge to respond to her detractors, and when she does, she usually only makes it worse. A lot of the criticism you see hurled at her online seems agenda-driven, taken out of context, or extrapolated to the point that it distorts the facts. R11 I agree with you, but there are a lot of people who have very strong negative views of her that seem disproportionate to the things she's done or said.
